Renewal of the vehicle fleet
The tasks at BR International Consulting Services GmbH (BR ICS) are very travel-intensive. Be it the cross-border transport of load securing materials or a meeting with business partners abroad. This means that several thousand kilometers per vehicle are covered every month. Exactly these enormous distances make a regular renewal of the vehicle fleet unavoidable. Now it was time again and the vehicle fleet of BR ICS was expanded by 12 vehicles:
1x Skoda Kodiaq
The off-road capability of the vehicle enables it to travel to locations far outside of paved roads. In addition, the SUV offers a good long-distance comfort and is therefore ideally suited for a travel to distant locations.
5x VW Amarok
The off-road capability of the vehicle enables it to travel to locations far outside of paved roads. Furthermore, the high motorization of the pickup allows flexible transportation of heavy loads.
3x Skoda Superb Combi
The interior space makes the vehicle the ideal travel machine. The Combi makes it easy to travel to far-away appointments together with colleagues and other loads in the vehicle.
3x VW Transporter Kastenwagen Plus
The capacity of the vehicle allows space for up to six people, load securing equipment and tools.
The vehicles were selected according to the respective areas of application and requirements. Our employees are thus supported in the fulfillment of their daily tasks and can further advance the quality of service.
BR ICS wishes a good and safe journey.
Employee-oriented protective measures in times of Corona (Covid-19)
Facing the current Corona pandemic, the question arises: "How can companies protect their employees from the Coronavirus?" The company group of BR Holding GmbH addressed this question and already found solutions. The result, employee-oriented protection measures:
Even though home office is currently experiencing a real boom, it is clear that this form of work is not applicable for every company. Especially services that presuppose physical presence in a particular place must find different solutions to handle the virus. Since many tasks of BR require physical presence, home office makes limited sense for the company group. Internal collaboration between colleagues and the management can be done via home office. Everything else, the load securing of military vehicles on railcars or the homologation of rail vehicles must be done as usual, face to face.
The limited home office use at BR doesn’t mean that the workforce has to be worried. BR provides every employee sufficient protection against the Coronavirus. At the entrance of the office, employees can disinfect their hands. In case an employee doesn’t carry a face mask, he or she will get one from BR. Additional disinfectant dispensers are easily accessible throughout the office.
Furthermore "protection sets" were prepared for employees who travel to different locations in order to carry out their jobs. A set contains a handy sanitizer dispensers, a face mask and gloves. All company vehicles are equipped with disinfectant for the hands and disinfectants for the vehicle interior.
There are many ways how companies can protect their employees from the Coronavirus. However, the user of the protection gear, namely the employee, must always be taken into account for the choice of measures. BR has chosen this approach and selected measures that are tailored to the respective application. Employees are therefore adequately protected against the virus and can carry out their jobs without any restrictions.
BR International Consulting Services GmbH takes part at the DEFLOG 2020
In March 2020, the so-called DEFLOG (Defense and Logistics Conference) took place for the fifth time. An event that brings together the military and business with the aim of improving defense logistics in Central and Eastern Europe.
In 2019 BR International Consulting Services GmbH took part at the DEFLOG for the first time and has already established important contacts with military members and companies of the industry. Due to the successful participation at the DEFLOG 2019, BR International Consulting Services GmbH decided to take part in the conference in 2020 as a so-called "Gold Sponsor". As a result, the company was the first speaker of the industry to open the conference and enjoyed increased advertising presence throughout the event.
The focus of the conference was the current development of the industry. Defense logistics in Europe has been on an upward trend since the Crimean crisis in 2014. This development will continue in 2020. The reason for this is the maneuver "DEFENDER-Europe 20". The rapid deployment of troops across the Atlantic and across Europe is being trained. The exercise started in January 2020 and is expected to continue until July 2020. In addition to the United States, 17 other NATO nations are involved. Around 37,000 participating soldiers, 20,000 of them from the United States alone, will be transferred to Europe. In addition, around 20,000 pieces of military equipment are transported. Because of its location and the growing infrastructure, Germany is of particular importance as a “hub” for the maneuver. In addition, increasing transport volumes can also be expected in the eastern states of NATO.
The scope of this maneuver could not be quantified at DEFLOG 2019. Only assumptions were made about the number of transported troops and equipment. Nevertheless, BR International Consulting Services GmbH took these assumptions seriously and turned them into important measures at an early stage.
“Especially with the DEFENDER-Europe 20 maneuver, we don't want to leave anything to chance. Our warehouses have already been equipped with sufficient load securing material and our employees have already completed their annual internal training. In short, we are optimally prepared to offer our customers a perfect working full-service throughout Europe. From consulting services on load securing, to attaching-, removing-, service the load securing material and storing it in our warehouses, which are positioned in strategic locations all over Europe. Everything from a single company”, explains Johann Braun, Managing Director of BR Holding GmbH.
The challenges expressed during the DEFLOG 2019 regarding larger and heavier military equipment were not addressed this year. Consequently, these changes should not be relevant for defense logistics 2020 in Europe.
BR International Consulting Services GmbH records its participation at the DEFLOG 2020 as a success and has already agreed to participate at the DEFLOG 2021.

BR International Consulting Services GmbH takes part at the DEFLOG 2019
The DEFLOG (Defence and Logistics Conference) took place for the fourth time in March 2019. An event that brings together the military and business with the aim of sustainably improving defense logistics in Central and Eastern Europe.
Defense logistics has experienced an enormous increase in importance since 2014. The reason for this is the so-called Crimean Crisis, a political conflict between Russia and Ukraine that has been going on since March 2014. Russia demonstrated that it is willing to move geographical borders and annexed the Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea in violation of international law. The international military alliance NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) then decided to increase its operational readiness, which in turn led to an increase in defense logistics in Europe.
As it emerged during the conference, the defense logistics industry is facing not only growth, but also certain challenges. The military equipment, which will also be transported as part of the deployment, tend to become larger and heavier. For rail transport, this means that flat wagons need technical adaptations to enable a continued safe transport.
Johann Braun, Managing Director of BR Holding GmbH adds: "Even if the corresponding flat wagons would be available on time, there is still the challenge for the railway infrastructure in Europe to provide routes for this increase in transport and its requirements."
Solutions to the challenges of the currently dynamic industry are already being worked out and expected to be presented at the DEFLOG 2020 conference next year. It is clear that appropriate solutions must be found by 2020. One of the most extensive troop transfers in Europe will take place at the beginning of 2020. In the course of the "DEFENDER-Europe 20" maneuver, numerous military nations will rotate in Europe for several months. No more precise figures regarding the number of troops and equipment were announced at the conference.
BR International Consulting Services GmbH records its participation at the DEFLOG 2019 as a success and has already agreed to participate at the DEFLOG 2020.
